Eat, Pray, Love ...The Movie

Now, at first my original plan was to read the book before watching the movie. However, I couldn't seem to finish the book seeing as I have been reading 3 books at a time for the past week or so (which I will be reviewing on this blog when I'm done).

So, when the opportunity arose to go see it with my good friend "V"...I just couldn't wait.

I've been waiting anxiously for the past few weeks to see this movie when I saw this trailer online:

This movie is definitely a chick flick. As much as I did see a few men in the theater who seemed to be accompanying thier wives and girlfriends...I'm sure they wouldn't be able to relate to this film as much as a woman would.

The story is based on the author Elizabeth Gilbert's "search for everything across Italy, India and Indonesia". The true story highlights the struggles of a woman who feels that her life isn't fulfilling even though she has the house, career and husband. Something inside of her yearns for more and she feels the insistent need to find her "appetite" for life.  I'm sure many people might not understand this movie, but I found it to be VERY relatable and I empathized and related with her character in so many ways. I also know a few woman in my life who also would find this movie comparable to thier lives. I made sure I had some tissues ready.

Julia Roberts played Elizabeth Gilbert perfectly and made her character even MORE likeable than she already is.

Even though I watched the movie, I'm still excited to read the rest of the novel as it does highlight and describe in detail some serious key moments that the movie wouldn't be able to show. After all, the movie was 2 hrs and 13 min. I could just imagine how bored some of the men in the theater were.

Favourite lines in this film;

"If you could clear out all that space in your mind, you'd have a door way...and you know what the universe would do? PUSH IN. Everything else will take care of itself" - Richard from Texas

"You don't need a man Liz...you need a champion." (AMEN!!!) Felipe

This movie touched my soul, my heart and mind. I will BUY this movie when it comes on dvd. Believe that!

I give this movie...TAAA DAAAAA
relatable, amazing storyline, great casting
