Robin Hood

I'm a sucker for medieval style movies and I think what first started my interest in them was the 1991 Robin Hood: Prince of Theives movie starring Kevin Costner. I was 10 yrs old when I watched it and I remember my mom took us, the kids, to go see it.  Over the years, I'ved watched it a few times. I really think it was a great movie. Morgan Freeman played a fantastic sidekick and I think Kevin's rendition of Robin suited him nicely.

So, when I was asked to go see the 2010 version starring Russell Crowe, I was anxious to finally see it.
I also got sold on the idea that it was near the beaches at the Fox Theater. It's an old school theatre that hasn't been modified in comparison to the big multi-screen theatres that are filling up our cities. I have to say watching the movie in that theatre did make the experience much more enjoyable. However, I was a tad disappointed in the movie. Some of the jokes were cheesy, and I was getting confused about how many bad guys there were. I think Russell Crowe is a phenomenal actor and he did a wonderful job in playing Robin Hood, but something about the movie just didn't quite satisfy me as much as the 1991 version.

Maybe I'm bias.

                                                                  I give this movie
Action packed, confusing story-line, not comparable
